There are many varieties of putters. It can be difficult to even begin to count the different types of putters currently available on the market. Choosing a putter is often considered a somewhat personal thing. There is a complicated alchemy to choosing the perfect putter. Measurements and sizes do no necessarily mean much if the putter club does not feel good in your grip. It helps to test as many putters out there as possible before investing in one putter club.

Three Basic Types of Putter Clubs

There are basically three different putter clubs. These come in a variety of lengths. The three basic styles of putter clubs are the heel-toe club head, the traditional blade club head, and the mallet club head. Most lengths of putter clubs are pretty standard. When Are You More Likely to Use Your Putter?

Well, you will definitely use your putter on the putting green. However, there are also many other instances in which you may want to consider using your putter club. For instance, you may be tempted to use your putter club in many other situations. For example, it is pretty common for people to use their putting off the putting green, as long as you do not stray too far and the turf is cut low. You will always want to use your putter where the surface is smooth and low. The so-called frog hair and fringe that surrounds a putting green tends to qualify for these purposes.

Learning the Basics About Putter Length

In general, there are three basic putter lengths. These are known as conventional, belly, and long. There are about as many variations on these lengths as there are putter clubs. Which putter length would work best for you? When it comes to putter length, the answer is mostly based on your personal preferences. There is no exactly science when it comes to picking the right putter length. In general, opt for a conventional putter if you are not sure. Use a belly putter if you are looking for better wrist control or action. A long putter is best for those who want to keep their wrist action out of play.
